Lexi and Griffin have been tagged!!!

Thanks for the tag, Livie Bug!
FIVE THINGS ABOUT LEXI
1. She was born 10 weeks early, and when she was born she only weighed 3 lbs. and 4 oz. She was in the hospital for 5 weeks before I got to bring her home!
2. She LOVES reading! We share books. Scary.
3. She hated Justin when we first started dating. She was SUCH a mama's girl, and every time he would come over she would just scream. She finally stopped doing that a couple weeks ago. =-)
4. She is a lefty, which I have heard means people are more arts-ie, and she is for sure! She draws and paints and "gets her crafty on" and dances... all extremly well!
5. She sleeps with a scarf (in her hand) every night. It's something my mom started (when she was speaking to us). Lexi loved to nuzzle in her neck and smell her, so my mom would wear a scarf all day so it would smell like her, then she would send it home with Lex so she could smell her Mimi. Of course they don't smell any more, but it just stuck with her.

FIVE THINGS ABOUT GRIFFIN

1. Griffin has a bad temper (she gets it from her dad, of course)! She used to bite and scratch Lexi all the time when she was little. One time she got so mad at her she pulled out a huge chunk of hair from Lexi's head!

2. Griffin is the family clown. She loves to make people laugh, and loves being the center of attention.

3. She still sleeps in our bed! Not every night, but I guess more than she should.

4. Griffin is a terrific dancer and uses the BEST facial expressions when she is doing her dances to make the judges fall in love with her.

5. Her favorite food at the moment would have to be... bagel sandwiches.
Now we tag Karter and Kylie, Kennedy and Baey and Brooklyn, and McKenzie Cox. Have fun!

Saturday Lunch

Saturday is the BIG DAY! We are so looking forward to this day, and to seeing all of our loved ones in one place. :-) We have arranged a lunch get together for a little celebration after the ceremony. It will be at Johnny Carino's at about 3:30. Just tell them you are with the Dance party. If you are not able to join us at the temple, please come and celebrate with us at Johnny Carino's! Have a great week and we'll see you on Saturday!

The Diva's have danced

The girls did great at their dance competition of Saturday! It was a long day, filled with 8 costume changes and of course a little drama. We got there at 10 am and didn't leave till about 5:45 pm... I was SO tired! :-) Good thing I wasn't the one dancing! Griffin won third place in the dance down (they separate the kids into their age groups and teach them a little dance in about 15 minutes, then they preform it in front of the judges and one by one they get eliminated until the three best dancers are left) for kindergarten and preschool. Lexi did not place, but she really did great! We are so proud of both the girls and how well they have done at dance this year!

What happened?!

This is what Lexi looked like when I got home from work yesterday. This is NOT how I sent her to school! She was playing tag with her friends when some naughty little boy (who was not playing tag with them) ran up behind her and pushed her down. She landed on a patch of ice and scraped up her face and both hands pretty bad. This is how it looked this morning, much better than last night. It was pretty swollen when I got home. I freaked out. I know, shocking, huh? Did I mention the girls have a dance competition on Saturday?! I know that she will do so well with her dancing that no one will even notice her ow-ie... A silver lining; no school pictures any time soon! :-) When I was in 3rd grade I did a cherry drop off the HIGH bar on the playground and landed on my face (I had super bad road rash right under my nose so it looked like red snot that needed to be wiped off... sexy), however, school pictures were the very next day! I will never forget that!

I am super glad that this happened when I was home from my little journey... I know that somehow I would have blamed Justin for it if it happened while I was gone!

Home again, Home again

Oh what a week! The girls survived. Lexi only got made fun of a little bit on Wednesday, but it was by boys, and what do they know about hair anyway? Justin even sent me pictures of the hair do's. Impressive. They even had matching hairbows in! What a guy! So all went well then... Um, NO! Justin was not feeling well as I was getting on the plane; he was complaining that his body hurt and he felt weak. Ooohhh! He was love sick! Gonna miss me SO much! So, I kissed him and got on the plane anyway... I checked my phone in SLC and was getting texts from him about how bad he felt. I told him to go to the doctor. Usually, he will then stop complaining(not a huge fan of the doc). It didn't work this time. By the time I had landed safely in Spokane (which, by the way, I had to ride all the way it the back of the plane, next to the toilets... such glamor!) Justin had a fever and was about to die. On Wednesday I was sitting in one of my classes and I got another text... he was going to the doctor! I knew it was bad, then. I called the airline and got a flight out for Thursday morning at 6:30. In the meantime, Justin was diagnosed with influenza and sent home with a prescription for Tamaflu.
At this point I will ask you to recall the movie Home Alone. Remember when the mom is trying to get home to Kevin? She tries to fly and it doesn't work out, she hitches rides with strangers, etc... You get the picture. So I flew safely and quikly to SLC (sitting not by the bathroom this time, but by a rather large, very smelly man) where I was informed that no one would be flying into Idaho Falls. Stupid freezing fog. So I called both of the shuttle places and they weren't leaving SLC for at least 3 hours... then I called every car rental place in SLC. The problem is that I only wanted a one way rental (!) and apparently this is nearly unheard of in the car rental world. I finally found one avaliable at Avis for a whopping sum of money. I got to the counter and was told... wait for it... "We gave your rental to someone else!" AAAGGGHHH! I had a minor meltdown at the customer service counter and amazingly enough, she "found" another car for me! It just happened to be a red VW beetle... a convertible! Too bad it was 35 degrees outside! So I finally, finally made it home at about 3:30... without my bags. I had to leave them on the plane in SLC, but was assured that as soon as they came into Idaho Falls that someone would call me. At 12:30 AM, Delta delivered them to our front door. Very nice. When I opened my bag the next morning my lotion had exploded all over the entire contents of my bag. I am not making this up, people.
So that's the end of my journey. Justin has informed me that I can never go anywhere without them again... and after all that, who wants to?
