In Like a Lion...

I thought this saying only applied to the WEATHER in March, not our lives!!! Guess I was wrong. I was blissfully painting jungle animals on Aidan's wall in the new house on Thursday afternoon when my phone rang. It was the landlord to the old house... I rolled my eyes thinking, "She doesn't have to call me EVERY single time she wants to show the house!". She did want to show the house, but she also casually mentioned that if possible, could we be out on the 1st of the month.... Um, that would be like, Sunday?! Like 3 days away, Sunday?! I said I would talk to Justin about it. I remained totally cool, calm, and collected (yeah right) during my conversation with him (did I mention I had not packed ONE box?) and he told me to calm down, we would work it out. So I called in the forces. My besties Fay and her husband Daniel, and Nancy and RC... dang, don't mess with the dance mommies when it comes to moving! Fay kept reminding me it would be okay, and that I would get through it...
So during all the moving madness we have to STOP for a dance competition! Lexi and Griffin both did solos and rocked it!!! I did take pictures, which I will post eventually, but I have no clue where the camera is currently located.
Then on the way home from the dance competition Aidan developed a wheezing and a cough that sounded BAD. He slept well on Saturday night so I waited to take him in to the doctor until the morning. One RSV swab and 3 chest x-rays later, our little one has RSV and pneumonia in his right lung that is related to the RSV. Poor, poor baby. They decided not to admit him to the hospital because his O2 sats where at 90-94. Thank goodness! They sent us home with a machine to do breathing treatments and told me that he is going to sound yucky for 2 to 3 weeks!!! I hate RSV!
In the meantime, Justin and all our friends completed the move!!! What great friends we have!
Today is Aidan's first day out of the house. We came in to the office to see what was slipping through the cracks... um, alot! Anyway, he is still really wheezy and coughing tons, so we will make it a short day and head home for another breathing treatment shortly.
I will post pics of the new house... sometime. Where is that dang camera?!

Some Sweet Deals

Okay, we all the the economy is really crappy right now, and groceries are getting more expensive and we aren't making anymore money... well, I'm not, anyway. And as the mom, it is my job to s-t-r-e-t-c-h our money as much as possible to feed and clothe my children. I was informed the other day of this website www.pinchingyourpennies.com . Please, please, please take the time to go to this website! They teach you all about how to use coupons (I know you think it's not that hard, but trust me, you will learn great things!), where to use them, and (this is the BEST part) they will give you a list of store and their sales and coupons that you can use on top of the sales!!! It is so great!
For example, yesterday I went to Albertsons. They were having a buy 10 items, get $10 off your next purchase deal. So I bought 10 cake mixes, the register kicks out the $10 coupon. You tell the cashier to total that order. Then she rings up another order (10 frostings or whatever) and you use your $10 coupon. PLUS there was a .25 coupon on top of the frosting so it was FREE with my $10 off coupon!!! Hello!
Before you get your coat on and head to Albertson's, that sale ended yesterday, I am sorry to say. But they do update the website with new sales, so keep watching. They also have a news letter you can sign up for (I highly recommend it) with online deals of the day. Yesterday I got an email from them for Diapers.com. If you spend $49 you get free shipping, PLUS if you have never ordered from them before you get $10 off your order, PLUS (I know, I sound like an infomercial) they also give you a $15 mail in rebate!!! Holy crap! I got over 200 diapers for about $25! And you don't have to pay tax! Let me know if you would like me to forward that email to you with all the codes and directions.
I hope this can save you all some monies!! I have already saved over $200... and I just started doing it yesterday! :-)

Happy New Year!

Over the past few weeks we have really enjoyed the spirit of the holidays and spending time with family and friends. We ended up going back to Middleton for Christmas and spent a few days with mom, dad and Cody. If our family continues to grow I'm not sure how we're going to keep going back. I had to put roof racks on our car and then borrow a friend's cargo hauler just to get all our stuff over there. Last year we made it without any problems......but it's amazing how much space a 12 lb baby takes up! We may have to invest in a 15 passenger Econo Van for future travels.
It has become a family tradition to go out to dinner and then go look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve. It's fun to see the kids' excitement and know that they can hardly wait for morning! We've found that one of the only restaurants open on Christmas Eve is a Chinese place called the Twin Dragons in downtown Boise. So for the past few years when we are in Boise we all go out to dinner at the Twin Dragons and then go look at the wealthy people's Christmas decorations on Quail Ridge. By the time we get back home the kids are tired and ready for bed. This year was no different, we had a great time and the snow falling really for the first time made it feel like Christmas. It seems that we are always so busy with life that Christmas comes and goes without really being able to sit down and enjoy it like we did when we were younger.
Christmas day came and went. The kids all got at least something that they asked Santa for. All the preparation for Christmas and then it's over......in about 7 minutes! But wait......Black Friday 2! Although she didn't get up early Summer enjoyed taking advantage of the after Christmas sales. Nobody was seriously injured....we think. The girls, Cody and I took advantage of the good snow and found some good sledding hills close by and Aidan enjoyed just being spoiled by Grammy.
After spending a few days in Middleton we made it back home in time for the new year. I had to work New Year's Eve so Summer took the girls to a movie and I don't think any of them managed to stay awake to ring in 2009.
Looking back at 2008 we have so much to be grateful for. In March Summer and I were married and sealed for time and eternity to our kids in the Idaho Falls temple. In July we enjoyed a great family trip to Las Vegas and in October Aidan J was born healthy and safely.
Today I had the opportunity to give Aidan his baby blessing and name in sacrament meeting. Summer had been stressing a little because she has heard of father's getting up to bless the baby and then being prompted by the spirit to change the child's name. Well......if you know Summer then you'll also know that I have had alot of fun playing that card! "......and the name which you shall be known by will be Justin Junior .........." or "....Maximus Urlacher Dance......" "But Honey, the Lord told me to........" Could you imagine? Thankfully for me it's still Aidan J Dance. Anyways, thanks to all who participated in the blessing.
Well after enjoying a great 2008 we look forward to the things to come in 2009. Hopefully that includes lots of new memories with friends and family! Until next time.....Stay classy San Diego.

I had to borrow some of dad's sweet snow gear!

Thanksgiving 08

This Thanksgiving we decided to go to Middleton and spend the holiday with my mom and dad. It was a nice opportunity to get out of town for a few days and visit with the family. Although I might venture to say that Summer's favorite part of the holiday is black Friday shopping!

You know those crazy people that you hear about who get into fights and get tazed by Target security?........yeah, that's my wife and my sister Tiffani is usually somewhere in the mix as well. This year it was Summer, Tiffani, my mom and they even drug my little bro Cody into it. As a sidenote I didn't want anything to do with it and as punishment I was left at home with 5 kids (2 infants)!....on my birthday nonetheless.

Anyways, yes there is a good story involved and Summer has since repented of her actions that cold frosty morning. However I won't throw her under the bus right now and I'll let her share the story if she wants to.

As it stands we had a great weekend and we truly are blessed for all that we have. It's always humbling to think how often we receive blessings even when sometimes we fall short on our end and feel like we don't deserve them.

Planning their attack.

Waiting for turkey!

Turkey!

Too much turkey!

Our little turkey!

Hanging out with Uncle Cody.

Just poohed on Uncle Cody.

As much as it looks like it......me and Cody are NOT at the BSU game.
