Well it was a very busy week at the Dance home. More so than usual. On Thursday Summer and I escaped from the kids for the night (Thanks Tiffy!) and had a romantic getaway at the Black Swan Inn in Pocatello. We had a nice dinner at Red Lobster and then went back to the hotel where we watched TV and stuff.....anyways, the room was the Garden Suite and it was really nice to just relax for a night.
Friday was Griffin's 8th birthday! Summer and I both had the day off and so while she took Griffin to lunch I took advantage of the great weather and got some flowers planted that we had gotten Summer for mother's day. We're hoping that the nice weather is finally here to stay.
Saturday morning we got up early and left for Lagoon. The girls had a dance competition that we go to every year there. This year we went down with my sister Tiffani and her kids, Karter and Kylie. We got to Lagoon at about 10:30 and the girls were finished dancing by about 1:30. The weather was great and we spent the rest of the day playing in the park and riding the rides.
One of the rollercoasters is called "Wicked." It starts you off by launching you 110'straight up into the air and then you come straight down and into some twisty turns. Although the line was long Tiffani and I decided we would be "weenies" if we didn't try it at least once. So we waited in line for about 30 minutes when the ride apparently had some "mechanical issues" or something and they closed it down for a while....apparently the "magnetic force" that holds the carts to the track wasn't working properly or something silly like that. Anyways we came back later and found it to be operating so we got in line again. Just before it was our turn there was another delay. Several people were in the carts just before it took off when the bars that hold you in started popping unlocked. They checked them a few times and apparently were satisfied that they were working so they started them up again. Now, nobody has ever accused me of being a genius, but I probably shouldn't have gotten on the ride after all of that........but I figured hey, if something happens I'll just try and aim my cart for the lake. So we ended up going on the ride and it was well worth the wait. My sister's wig almost came off so she spent the entire ride holding it on and I was spittin out words that have probably never been heard of before. Anyways, Lagoon was a blast. Everyone had a great time and we can't wait to go back.
For those who are interested, Griffin's baptism will be Saturday, June 5th at the Riverton Stake Center. I don't have the time yet, but will let you know soon. Here are a few pics from the weekend and I'll post more later this week.

Blame Facebook
I'm not sure how many still faithfully update their "blog" like me.....ha ha.......but I've decided to start up again more so as an online journal of sorts for the family. I guess it's been easier to update my Facebook status than post a new entry on the blog! Anyways, I won't let the girls have Facebook accounts yet because I'm "mean" and want them to be "outcasts" for the rest of their lives amongst their friends. Someday I hope they will realize that I'm probably the "coolest" dad they'll ever have.........but really I won't let them have Facebook accounts because I just don't trust other people. I would, however, let them post on the family blog if they wanted to.
Sometimes I wonder if my kids realize just how "good" they have it. Do they know that applications like "email" haven't always existed? When I was a kid if I wanted to talk to someone far away I actually had to write a letter on paper, walk it out to the mailbox, wait 3-5 business days until they received it, and then wait until they mailed me a letter back using the same process! WAY HARDER than email!
Anyways........I'm happy to say that all is well in the Dance household. Summer has a new boss at work (as of 5 months ago) and is still enjoying working with all of the grandparents. She's very good at what she does and the program is lucky to have her.
Lexi and Griffie are both doing well in school and excited for it to be over soon. Lexi has had some "girl drama" this year and has experienced "bullying" issues, but has weathered the storms well and wil enter the 6th grade next year. They both are still in dance and have some fun competitions coming up soon. Lagoon is this month on the 15th, and Stadium of Fire is July 3rd in Provo. Carrie Underwood is performing this year..........so I guess I'll go.
Aidan is a "wild man" and is into everything. He has recently taken a liking to "Toy Story" and now thinks he is "Buzz Lightyear." He literally thinks he can fly.......off of the chairs, tables, counters, etc.
As for me, things continue to go well. Work is busy and lately we've had our share of SRT and STAR call-outs to liven things up a bit. I have some training opportunities coming up in Boise this summer, so I'm looking forward to that.
Summer is fast approaching........I hope......... and we are looking forward to planting the garden, working outside and having some barbecues.
We hope all is well with everyone and look forward to "bringing the blog back!"

New Addition
Just thought I'd share a few new pics and an update from the Dance family. School is out and the girls are enjoying their summer vacation! Summer has been busy between work and taking care of the kids and I have been busy with work and a yard.......and now we have a new addition...... The kids and Summer (mostly Summer) have been begging to get a dog since we moved into the house and I guess I caved in finally. So, meet Maggie. She's part Shar-pei and part Australian Shepherd. The girls love her, but AD is not so sure yet. Speaking of Aidan...he's not quite crawling yet, but that should be fun.......crawling baby, new puppy........Anyways, things are going well here and we hope everyone is doing good. Here's a few more pics. Spamoni.

Update from the Dizzle
Due to the many requests and continuous outcry for more posts I have decided to delay no longer. I'm back.........thank you. Ok......so no one really seemed to care but Summer obviously isn't keeping anyone updated on what's going on besides when Aidan decides to crap on me.
Speaking of Aidan, he continues to grow and change everyday. Our little man has such a fun personality and he is so easy to take care of. Summer and I love to just watch him play and figure out how things work. The girls adore him and I'm sure he'll be quite the little ladies man.
Lexi and Griffie are turning into little women all too soon. Lex is all grown up and enjoys helping out with AD. Her new favorite thing however is "texting" on her phone. Yeah I said it. "Her" phone. I can just see it now......."Blackfoot Man Passes Out and Dies in His Kitchen After Receiving Phone Bill for $48,000.00" Actually she has been very good and responsible with it so far. She knows that I monitor the usage daily via the internet and won't hesitate to put the "Xnay on Thatnay"........or whatever.
Griffie's front teeth still have not grown in......getting worried. She loves to try and pack AD around, which is still a little unsafe due to the fact that he is almost as big as she is. But she is still a big help to mama. Griffin loves to have fun and can always put a smile on your face. It's hard to stay mad at the "toothless wonder" for too long.
Both of the girls are doing very well in school and their teachers love them. They always tell us at parent-teacher conference, "If we could only have more kids like yours....." which really makes us proud. We do appreciate their hard work and know that the skies the limit for both of them.
Both Lexi and Griffie are still dancing and have done really well in this year's competitions. They're both excited to perform at Lagoon this weekend and also at "Stadium of Fire" in Provo, UT over 4th of July weekend. Actually I think they're more excited to see the Jonas Brothers peform at "Stadium of Fire" instead of actually dancing in it. Heck.......I think we're ALL more excited to see the Jo Bro's perform! Maybe Lexi can "bedazzle" a JoBro's T-shirt for me or something.
Anyways, as for Summer and I we both seem to continually stay busy between the kids and work. Summer has her hands full with the baby all the time, but it doesn't seem to bother her. She puts in alot of time and effort into the Foster Grandparent program and still has time to cook dinner and wash clothes for us. I couldn't ask for a better wife and mother to the kids. She puts us before herself all the time and I can't tell her enough how much I appreciate her for continually supporting me in all my endeavors. Love ya babe.
As for me, I transferred to the Detectives Division in February and have enjoyed the new challenges and opportunities that have opened up. I still miss being out on the road with the guys once in a while, but I'm excited to be doing what I'm doing. I'm actively participating on our local S.W.A.T team and am also a part of a southeastern idaho S.W.A.T team comprised of 7 different counties which fills my need for adrenaline. Besides...it seems that there is a greater need for tactical teams than ever before.
Overall I'm happy to say that everyone is well and in good health. We can't complain. We've been blessed.
Spamoni......I'm out.

No one told me boys do THAT...
Ew. Aidan peed in his own mouth. And then in his own ear. Sorry, no pics. I was to busy gagging. So was Aidan. Needless to say we were late for work that day... we both had to have a bath. Sick.
